New substitute teachers to the school district must meet minimum requirements established by the Kemper County School District. Substitutes must have a completed application with background check verification form on file and verification of one of the following:

A.  Completed at least two (2) years of study (48 semester hours) at an institution higher learning; or

B.  Obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree; or

C.  Obtained a passing score on the Mississippi Test: ACT Work Keys-Reading for Information (Score of 4), Applied Mathematics (Score of 4), and Writing (Score of 3).


Also, please remember to bring two forms of identification (Driver’s License or picture ID and Social Security Card). A fee of $32.00 for fingerprinting must be paid by you before fingerprinting is conducted.


All documentation must be submitted to Central Office before you are approved by the School Board.

Substitute teachers are important to the school district to ensure continuity of instructional services when the regular classroom teacher is absent.
